Grant Awarded to Help Safety-Net Hospitals Adopt Integrated Care

Aetna Inc., with support from the Aetna Foundation, has awarded a $250,000 research grant to the National Public Health and Hospital Institute (NPHHI) to evaluate the readiness of the nation's safety-net hospitals to become fully integrated health systems for the millions of underserved patients who rely on them to meet all their health care needs.

The goal of the one-year study is to help safety-net institutions restructure their services to provide seamless, efficient patient-centered care that improves health outcomes and moderates costs.

Our news release provides more details.

NPHHI is the research affiliate of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH).
