Dear Colleague,

As we look back on 2010, we are heartened by the good work in research, programs and policy-making that promotes wellness, health and access to high-quality care for all. We have been proud to support many educational institutions and nonprofit organizations this year that are making significant differences in people’s lives. We look forward to having an even greater impact in the years ahead.

While our focus is on health, we do not lose sight of the many people in our communities who are struggling to keep their home, clothe their families or put food on the table. To make the holidays brighter, we partnered with employees at our Connecticut headquarters on Aetna’s annual Giving Tree Program.

On December 15th, our cafeteria overflowed with more than 600 gaily wrapped packages of toys, warm clothing, household goods and gift cards for people in need. Staff members from 13 local social service agencies joined us to celebrate the generosity of the human spirit. And we handed out surprise holiday grants to these nonprofit partners to help them better serve their clients. We hope you enjoy this news story that was broadcast by the ABC affiliate in our region.

We wish you and yours the happiest of holidays and a healthy new year.

Warmly,

Anne Beal Signature
